Our ability to supply off-the-shelf rubber extrusions means we can deliver your rubber product fast, with convenience in mind.

How does rubber extrusion work?

The process of rubber extrusion involves a screw continuously feeding rubber under pressure through a barrel which controls the temperature of the material until it is forced though a shaped Die, producing the required profile. This Die may not in fact look anything like the final profile, as the rubber tends to swell as it leaves the Die, and in the case of organic materials, the profile then has to be cured off under temperature and pressure to complete the manufacture of the profile. When it comes to the silicone rubber extrusion process, as an inorganic material, silicone can be cured by microwave ovens and as such silicone profiles are often quicker to produce. Additional features can be added during the process, such as Flocking to reduce sticking of an opening joint, self-adhesive backing tape etc.

Choosing the right rubber extrusion profiles

With such a wide selection of rubber extruded products, choosing the right one can be challenging. Our range of extrusions are built for both general purpose and specific applications. The material selection will depend on the proposed application requirement, however our extrusion products are available in Neoprene, PVC, EPDM and Nitrile, meaning there is a product and material to suit even the most complex needs. All of our standard rubber extrusion profiles currently in stock are displayed in our online store. The dies are displayed with a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) instead of the price per metre. If you cannot find a die to suit your needs, we are able to make custom rubber extruded products to suit the specific needs of your application. A tooling cost and minimum order quantity will be applied to the price; however, this way, you can be sure that the product is suitable to your exact specifications. If you require more information about the rubber extrusions or dies, please feel free to send us your questions using the contact form at the bottom of the page.

Benefits of using a rubber extrusion

Rubber extrusions are perfect for those who require large quantities, as they are a more cost-effective solution. Our extrusion products are also available in a wider range of materials, suitable for demanding applications and the products are also available in a range of colours, in order to maintain consistency.
